2.5 would be the most appropriate rating because this hotel simply met about half of our expectations. The low rating has everything to do with the hotel and very little to do with the staff. The entire staff was fantastic. Friendly, respectful, and prompt! The hotel room was dated, overpriced, and a bit dirty. The recent (maybe) remodel the villas we stayed in was a slap together job, just downright poor work. Paint was peeling etc. the hotel was also experiencing an ant problem so we were finding them dead and alive throughout our room, and unfortunately my wife also find some in her Raisin Bran while eating it. If it wasn't for the consideration of the top notch staff, this review would be hanging on by 1 star.

This place is probably going to turn out better than the experience we had. We paid for a premium room that was in a separate building towards the back of the property. I'm guessing that renovations are still in process, but somehow stalled. Our room had no heat, and the phone didn't work... So I called the front desk from my cell very late in the evening requesting an extra blanket that was promptly delivered. The room was very upscale and the bed was comfortable... But we were cold that evening. In the morning they came to service the heater, but it could not be fixed that day, so they moved us a couple of doors down to a new room with heat! It had heat, but the TV had no remote... This time the phone did work and someone promptly delivered a remote for the TV... Only the remote would not control the "down" volume... Everything else was fine. We noticed that the housekeeping laundry bins were left in the hallway all day... Like 12 hours at least... Kind of unsightly. So... This place has a great location, lovely upscale rooms, good service, and the potential to be great. Unfortunately for us, they missed the mark this trip.
