The attempts to upgrade the hotel are appreciated - the fireplace, balcony, furnishings all made the room a more pleasant place. However, the renovations weren't completed adequately. The thermostat did not work and we had to call maintenance 4 times in two days. A small adjustment to our bill did not make up for the lack of sleep on the first night when the room temperature was 80 degrees and the second night when the room temperature hovered near 65. There is a premium paid for the location but the hotel should make sure that basic functions like HVAC are in good order.

Bring your own pillows ! the hotel is a bit dated and in my opinion overpriced. If you stay in a room with a courtyard view be sure to request on away from the hot tub or you will be staring at a wall. It was nice to have breakfast. The location is not in particularly great as far as walkability into adorable downtown healdsburg but it is central to much of wine country.
