Swedish Christmas Event at West Wines Tasting Room

Join the acclaimed vintner West Wines as they celebrate their Swedish roots for this cherished Christmas tradition. Enjoy a cup of homemade mulled wine and delicious Christmas cookies while you browse for holiday gifts.

This holiday event revolves around Glögg, a mulled wine that is served in Sweden during the four weeks leading up to Christmas. West Wines' family recipe features a special blend of red wine mixed with cloves, ginger, cinnamon and raisins. It is a delicious way to celebrate the season, and this your chance to try this tasty treat. You should also come ready to shop for one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. Along with our award-winning vintages, wine glass charms, calendars and wine country truck motives, there will be handmade holiday decorations from Scandinavia.

So how did a Swedish event end up in Sonoma County? Owners Bengt Akerlind and Katarina Bonde came to the US from Sweden in 1992. After settling in Seattle, they found their true passion for winemaking in Healdsburg. Their connection to their homeland is still strong, and their wines were served at the Nobel Banquet in Stockholm in 2010.

The event takes place from November 27 to 29 from 11 am to 5 pm. Our hotel is located only two minutes by car from the winery, so it's a quick trip for our guests to enjoy this local tradition.
