You don't have to be a wine lover, a wine connoisseur or a wine snob to make your way to the town of Healdsburg, CA on Sunday, October 25, 2015 for the 12th Annual Russian River Valley Pinot on the River. If you couldn't tell from the name, the festival focuses on Pinot Noir from all over Sonoma County. From 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Healdsburg Plaza Square, you will be treated to top California Pinot Noirs from more than 100 wineries. These include Baker Lane Vineyards, Ellipsis Wine Company, Carol Shelton Wines, Landmark Vineyards, Attune Wines, Fort Ross Vineyard, Dunstan Wines, Black Kite Cellars, Ektimo Vineyards, Martin Ray Winery, Patz & Hall, St. Francis Winery, Talisman Wines, Sea Smoke, Wrath Wines, and Peter Paul Wines.
The first hour of the Russian River Valley Pinot on the River will be set aside for those who have signed up for early access to the Artisanal Pinot Noir Grand Tasting. For the next four hours, general admission attendees will be able to walk around and taste until their heart's content. Everyone will be treated to everything from library wines and special bottlings to current releases. At 3:00, the tastings will be put on hold to allow the judges to award trophies to the winners of Special Achievement in Pinot Noir. Once that's completed, the festival hosts will present a check to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County, the beneficiary of the event.
