Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon

Whether you're into running or into watching runners run, you'll be into the Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon. Since it takes place on October 31, 2015, the race has a Halloween theme. That means participants and spectators are expected to get into the spirit of things by dressing up in a costume. It's a totally fun event and the weather is usually ideal. It should be sunny and warm with tons of colorful leaves enveloping the race course through the Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys. It gets underway at the White Doe Winery and it will finish up at the Trentadue Winery where the Wine + Music Festival will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. The post-race festivities, which are sponsored by Alaska Airlines, range from a costume contest and wine tasting to food and live bands.

There's a lot more to the Healdsburg Wine Country Marathon than just the race and the post-race activities. There's a welcome reception on Thursday, October 29 at Truett Hurst Winery from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Friday, October 30, you can attend the Race Expo at Vintners Inn from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. along with the pre-race dinner at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. And after the Wine + Music Festival, you can pop on over to Trione Winery for the Finisher's Celebration, which gets started at 2:00 p.m. and finishes up at 5:00 p.m. To be sure, it's going to be one heck of a weekend.
