Posted by: Best Western Dry Creek Inn
Attention film lovers! Mark your calendar for an exciting event that blends independent cinema with Hollywood glamour just moments from our Healdsburg hotel. The Alexander Valley Film Festival is coming to Healdsburg and Sonoma County theaters from October 19 to 22. Along with movie premieres and cocktail receptions, there will be intimate talks and panels with leading filmmakers. This year's focus includes insightful fiction films and documentaries that cover a diverse group of topics including LGBTQI, Latin America, vital social issues, and youth-oriented perspectives. The lineup will feature everything from legacy classics to brand new art house cinema that's outside the realm of mainstream Hollywood.
Many of this year's movies at AVFF will screen at Healdsburg's Raven Film Center which is located only five minutes from our Sonoma County retreat in the heart of wine country. Dry Creek Inn gives you easy access to Downtown Healdsburg where you can sample Sonoma wines at tasting rooms. Before or after a screening, savor locally-sourced California cuisine at local restaurants in Healdsburg. Other nearby venues include Clover Theater in Cloverdale (about 15 minutes away) and the Erickson Fine Art Gallery in downtown (5 minutes away) where the festival kicks off with a big launch party.
You can buy tickets to individual films or make the most of the festival with an all-access pass. You'll get tickets to a VIP Filmmaker Brunch and entry to the Closing Night & Awards Celebration.
